I consulted Dr Kaliaperumal about a lower back issue which had started to compromise sleep and daily exercise including running. At all times he was extremely clear, approachable, and reassuring as we followed a process which ultimately resulted in me requiring a lower back microforaminotomy procedure. Although I was apprehensive about this, he was very reassuring and the whole procedure has proved to be exactly as he described. He has showed great care following the procedure, both calling and then visiting the day after the procedure. The attention to detail has been exemplary throughout and this extended to the follow-up review where he dealt with my queries clearly and efficiently.

My wife suffered excruciating pain in her face for eight years struggling to talk ,to eat ,to drink ,to smile , to live , crying out in pain until Mr Kaliaperumal together with Mr Mark White operated and gave her back a life .Smiling, talking,Laughing and enjoying herself .No more pain killers ,no medication after years of being under the chemical cosh . Our grandchildren are no longer frightened to see their Granny . Thank you for your care and skills and knowledge , thank you for restoring a life worth living .

I met Mr Kaliaperumal August 2022 after being diagnosed with a benign brain tumour after a bad seizure. He was excellent at explaining my condition and the options available to me. I had my tumour removed this year and all I can say is how brilliant Mr Kaliaperumal and the whole neuro team have been.! All the staff at Royal Edinburgh are so kind and caring. I am so happy to report that my operation was a success, thanks to Mr Kaliaperumal’s expert and dedicated skills! I can now move on and live my life. I can’t recommend highly enough the neurosurgery department. Thank you.

Dr Kaliaperumal was absolutely fantastic from my 1st appointment with him, to my surgery, right through to my follow up appointment 6months post surgery. He explained everything to me in great detail so I was always fully aware of what was going on. I have my wedding coming up & he made sure I got my surgery in plenty time so I could fully recover before. He met with me in the ward after my surgery to check on me & i believe he genuinely cares about my well being. His full team in neurosurgery were fantastic along with all the nurses who helped care for me after. I could not recommend a better surgeon! Dr Mark Smith also spoke with me at multiple appointments and the same goes for him.

I was introduced to Dr Kaliaperumal a few years ago All I can say is He is just the Best I was given brian surgery MVD~( nerve combing ) A new pioneering procedure he was willing to undertake Which I'm so glad he did The pain was unbearable He took me under his wing & looked after me 100% professional. He always put me at ease Made me feel as if I was & would always be his priority Even though I knew he was such a busy Dr looking after more than just me Just how he made me feel I knew I was in safe trusted hands and had no fear in placing my care in his hands He also built a great report with my family too They thought he was amazing and the knew I was in safe hands Dr kaliaperumal"s staff in theatres & staff in ward working along side/for him Where also fantastic Everyone had a great bedside manner He has a great team around him.
